by Alan McArthur
Landmark reporter

At the North Platte School Board election, candidates Debie Asher, George Hoeffner, and Bill Matney were elected to the board.

Incumbent Debie Asher received 341 votes cast in her favor.

“I'm very excited,” said Asher. “I'm happy about the other people who won and look forward to working with everyone on the board again.”

Hoeffner received 207 votes and Matney 205 to claim the final two open seats.

“I'm pleased, I'm glad to work for the patrons of this district,” said Hoeffner.

“I hope to do well and serve the district,” said Matney. “I'm happy to be on there and I hope to do as good a job as the previous board.”

Other candidates in the race, with their vote totals: Vince Roberts 192, Cathy Hill 180, Jon C. McLaughlin 138.
