Landmark mails sample copies

Several hundred postal customers on rural routes near Parkville are receiving a sample copy of this week's issue of The Landmark.

New readers will quickly note The Landmark is the only county weekly that consistently covers news from communities in all parts of the county, from Dearborn to Riverside and all points in between. The Landmark, with its office located in downtown Platte City, has been the county's fastest growing paid circulation weekly the past several years.

Subscriptions are available for only $23.67 for one year and can be ordered by telephone at 816-858-2313, by email to, or by filling out a subscription coupon like the one found on page A-2.

The Landmark, founded in the closing days of the Civil War, has been published weekly without interruption since 1865. It has won many Missouri Press Association Better Newspaper Contest awards in recent years and has built a reputation for being the county's political watchdog.
